4th GRADE KEVA CONTRAPTIONS
Fourth grade students worked in collaborative groups to develop Keva structures that would transport a ball in a variety of ways. Students began the unit working with different types of tracks for the ball to be on such as chutes, edge side, flat side, and zig zag tracks. They then progressed into making turns (L, U, and 360 turns) before working on being able to drop and catch the ball in a variety of ways (missing piece of track, bounce plate bounce into a funnel). The idea was to explore different components and then use a variety of them in their own creations at the end of the unit. Sky was the limit!
